New Years Eve 2013

The last time I posted was 2012...Here we are & it's New Years Eve 2013...almost 2014! I saw where my friend, Jessica, (Hey Jessica!) started a blog so it got me motivated to actually write in mine too & not just stalk.

So what all happened in 2013? Wow, that would take entirely too long to write about. So, I'll just hit the highlights.

In May my precious nephew was born. He is Alex & Carrie's second child. And I must say, he is ADORABLE.

Then in June my little sister, Sara, married her best friend, Timmy. They had dated FIVE years before tying the knot. :) She was the most beautiful bride. I'm so happy for them & can't wait for when they start having cute little babies. lol.

Guess who caught the bouquet?? That leads me to the next exciting thing that happened in 2013... : )

I got engaged to Joseph Birckhead! I will be Mrs. Birckhead March 22, 2014! :)

The picture above was taken about an hour or so after we got engaged. On June 21st Joe came to my work & brought me lunch. We went into the teacher's lounge to enjoy our OKelly's. I had no idea that this simple lunch would be the start of the rest of my life. After we were done eating, Joe reached in his Okelly's bag & pulled a mint out. I was curious if I had a peppermint in my bag as well, so I looked & there was my ring!! I was confused at first...I pulled it out & I was like what is this?? He took it from my hand and got down on one knee in front of me (right there in the teacher's lounge at the school). He said the sweetest speech he had prepared and even teared up a little. He asked me to be his wife & I said yes!

I can't wait to start our lives together. We are currently in the process of closing on our very first home. We should be closing NEXT week! Joe will move in as soon as we close, but I won't move in until after we are married.

Ok, next highlight from 2013.... Joe & I officially became members of our church! I was also baptized on the day we joined the church. It was a very special day.

I also started a part-time job in 2013 in addition to my full time job at the school. I'm a support specialist at a group home for intellectually disabled. Basically, I get to hang out with really awesome people and help them with their daily life activities.

I'm sure I forgot to mention a lot of other awesome things that happened in 2013, but these are the ones that popped into my head at the moment.

Happy New Year everyone!!
